Freon
Freon-22, also known as Chlorodifluoromethane (ClCF2H) is is a nonflammable, stable, and nearly non-toxic chemical that is used as a refrigerant as well as an aerosol propellant. Freon is used for numerous halocarbon products.
Halocarbon products are chemical compounds that have 1 or more carbon atoms connected by covalent bonds with 1 or more halogen elements within Group 17:
- Fluorine
- Chlorine
- Bromine
- Iodine
